The October Children's Club Spring 2008: New Lines

We always like to make a point of seeking out and reporting on 'new' lines…by that I refer to those who are approximately two years and under (in this case, they are definitely NOT the 'terrible twos') in addition to those who are more established. Sometimes, I find that the former are a bit more 'under the radar' and harder to find. Interestingly and happily, I can report that much like last July's ENK Children's Club, I found that the new exhibitors at this show (October 14-16, 2007) were very much out in force and seemed to be all around. And they had a lot to say!

ONE RUBY LANE

Fun, fanciful footwear for little girls ("Not your plain Mary Jane")Designer: Paula Walker, Susie Taniguchi Wholesale: $20

Sizes: 12M - 12, Infant, Toddler, Girls 4 - 6X

Standouts: The soft soled lace up sneakers (organza lace ribbons) with Swarovski crystal cap toes (available in leopard, zebra, pink polka dots); the pink and lilac leather pre walkers decorated with a cat or dog and a crystal 'bling' attached; the pastel floral printed canvas t-straps decorated with multi colored sequined flowers.

FYI: The company is named for the ruby shoes worn by Dorothy in "The Wizard of Oz"; the shoes are designed for that "little girl who wants to be a princess".
